I went to the loo.....

And got lost, hence the ginormous gap since I last put pen to paper here, well in a virtual way.....

So whats been happening, well SW Trains is even higher up my hate list with their Micky Mouse commuter trains with seats that make sleeping in a doorway a real alternative.

In the world of politics we see the progressive crumbling of the prime minister, which in many ways is unpleasant as the layers of his persona are stripped away.....sadly his replacement is upping the nausea levels by trying to be nice to colleagues that he has ignored for the past 10 years, along with kissing babies and visiting his private dentist, to get his molars ready for some pre-election photo opportunities.
I wonder if he is now going to be permanently caked in studio make up like Blair, if so he will flake when he smiles, itself a rare occurrence.

Grass at home is beginning to make its self evident as the little buggers push their way upwards.....with a lawn mower being serviced and no goats to hand I can only admire the colour but not the growth......There is a spring like feel to the day so I dooooo need to get cutting or I'll be swamped....maybe I should strip it all off and put down 'astro turf', green to look at but takes a layer of skin off your arse if you slip on it.....friction with a big F.....

Well there you are a few hundred words of no consequence...a bit like one of Gordon B's targets.....

What fun we are having.....

Most amusing to see Gordon Brown, supposedly trying to avoid the launch of the £2 coin to commemorate the Union of the Parliaments, jet off to India, leaving carbon emissions everywhere and run smack into Jade Goody protests.......which is not a nice thought at the best of times.
There is some debate if she and her two co-defendants are ignorant or racist....well I haven't watched the programme and have no intention to but guess it may be a mix of both. However, if there is a 'crime' then it is the untrammelled bullying that seems to have occurred and not just one way. You can bully by being superior as well as by swearing and physically threatening.
All in all, seems that they all deserve each other but it would be nice to see Channel 4 getting a good kicking for broadcasting such crap.

......gauwd, its the New Year.....

And just when I was getting used to writing cheques with 2006 on them.
Can't be a lot of fun being in the armed services at the break of the new year.....no matter how you look at the situation, there has been colossal abuse of the commitment and energy of our service men by this bankrupt Government. And if the voters think it will get better when Brown takes over, they are very sadly mistaken.
I guess we are reaching a line which says, do it properly or get out completely, sell off the yards close the defense industry and regard ourselves as an off-shore Switzerland. Sad........

...and all who sail in her...

I feel a Christmas message coming on...whilst not quite up to the Queen's standard or audience levels...well my dog might read it...I thought I should say a few words about the coming year.
Firstly...I need to work out an alternative to SW Trains before I run amok on their crummy offering...actually that's' hard as my usual train has at least 200 people standing on the journey. My back is suffering from semi crouching on a seat designed to fit a 6 year old and crammed in 5 across. Not helped by high season ticket costs about to go up...well above inflation. Actually everything is going up well above inflation, particularly fuel bills, motoring and especially local rates...all because to the lunatic Brown and his obsessive spending habits.....As a PM, he will prove to be a complete basket case, given his ability to disappear when hard questions come along. At least Blair addressed most of them, usually without the Chancellor in sight.
This year I'm going to have a few decent holidays, years of camping in a field in Cornwall with a dank wet suit are loosing their appeal...so roll on a bit of sunshine.....
I could go on, lol, but just finish by saying, happy Christmas to those of you who subscribe to it (which leaves out our PC friends..and most of the C of E bishops as well)....

Due another one.......

But running out of strength, all due to the ebb and flow of the temperature in the office...sadly the warm open the windows, screwing up the crap air con, then the cold put the heating on full blast. No wonder office workers are so prone to coughs and sneezes.....Then I will have to endure some travel in Ken's toy set...if they are running today...so that's a few more bugs for the system. I wonder if I will be conscious tomorrow...Trouble is I've only had a day off in 3 or 4 years, (which would make me a crap local authority worker!) , just not used to being off work...bless!

Money for this....

I emailed over to a new journalist contact, some fun copy for their diary page...something that I did regularly for their predecessor......quite surprised to get a reply asking if I had been paid for previous submissions (no!). Got me thinking, either I could have made enough money to buy at least half a pint of shandy from all this activity (have you seen copy rates...and no its not £1 a word!) but then I wondered if the new journalist's predecessor was submitting accounts for money never paid...possibly not but may be there are a few Spanish practices that even Rupert Murdoch didn't quite trample on......The new Telegraph offices looks very impressive but I wonder how long before someone runs amock in the news room...its like an enormous goldfish tank, laden with CCTV...no doubt they are all being 'observed'...bit like the Mail!

It completely escapes me.......

How bloggers can write on a daily basis....the energy lost to the Nation must be immense...

I slept in the train this morning, as one does with Mozart blaring away in to Pod thingy, not sure what the guy in the next seat thought but I think he was more ABBA....and a novelty on the Tube, there was a guy in fleece embroidered with the slogan "Frank Skinner Live 1996" could this be real?

Anyway, I've been thinking if private equity is a good thing or ultimately a complete rip-off where the only winners are the unseen (American?) owners, who cause major commercial disruption, job losses and finally eject a highly geared business, disguised by a shinny but ultimately false balance sheet. I'm aware of all the arguments for both sides but I'm getting progressively uneasy as time moves on....Christ, what a topic for 8.00 in the morning....

I will be interested to see if the heavy hand of the Law finally rests on the shoulders of Blair, given his apparently unacceptable dealing in peerages......should make a good run up to Christmas......
